Big, abundant, and chock full of fight, Barramundi is the “silver king” of Australia’s sport fishing. No matter how many trips we’ve made downunder or fishes we have landed, each has been a memorable thrill. Looking towards the morning sun, in grey skies we came to our familiar spot retracing our previous trip. Casting out with our shallow diver lure, working in an almost flat sea, anticipating but not expecting. I suddenly felt a swift surge on my line transmitted to me when the big Barramundi smashed into my lure.She must have been drifting with the incoming tide close to the surface. The explosive struggle soon confirm her size. Her terrific exertions had worn her out but yet, we will never know if she would be landed…
